Compaction grouting is the most common remediation method for sinkhole repair used today. When a properly designed grout is injected into loose soils, grout bulbs are formed that displace, densify and “compact” the surrounding soil.
As with other remediation efforts, the geotechnical engineer or geologist will issue a comprehensive report and plan of action to fix the problem. The report will estimate the depth and quantities of aggregate grout and guide the contractor in pumping stages.
