RAB Foundation Repair Auger Piers
Auger Piers resemble a giant screw. The flytes are usually 1” blades wrapping continuously
around the section of pin pipe. The additional blade also increases load bearing capacity.

Auger Piers are most commonly utilized when an insufficient counter load (structure’s weight) is available and/or drilling is required to penetrate layers of dense and/or non-porous soils such as clay based soil layers or high blow count layers. Auger Piers are always drilled down to the top of the rock layer to ensure grout delivery at those depths.

This configuration allows the penetration through dense soils in order to get to the depth and soil layer designated by the geotechnical engineer or geologist.

The auger is driven with planetary drive heads attached to precision, industry drill rigs.
